11/29/2023 0 Comments Blood bowl 3 new rulesWe don't know what the cost will be for a team after the team's Blood Pass ends, but I'm guessing that the team itself will still be $10, but you won't get any of the Blood Pass cosmetic goodies.įourth, we don't really know what order the teams will be released, or whether there's going to be any curve balls in the team lists (like Kislev in BB2). Or any day during the season, including the last day. ![]() You can pay the $10 the day that the team comes out. Third, the use and availability of DLC teams is entirely up to you. Now, there are few people who WANT to buy and play all of the teams, so just keep in mind that the $160 is the upper end - say, streamers who do it to show off the Blood Passes on Day 1 - and does not represent what most gamers will end up paying. With BB3, you could pay anywhere from $30 total (if you buy the base game, and complete all Blood Passes on the Free track) to $160 (if you buy the Brutal Edition for $50, use the bonus credits to pay for the first Blood Pass, then pay the $10 for the next 11 Blood Passes, to bring the teams total to 24). If you bought both the BB2 base game and the LE version at launch, you would have paid approximately $60-$70 ($40-$45 for the base game, then $20-$25 for the LE version). (There's a few teams I'll pay the $10 for.) So, that's a mixed result, depending on whether you're patient enough. That said, you don't have to pay the cost - if you play a lot, you can unlock the teams for free. The Blood Pass is going to be $10, so if you buy every Blood Pass, you're paying more per team. Second, the cost per team has sort of gone up. or having them as a bonus on a different team's Blood Pass. Having joke teams like Goblins and Halflings being directly available in the Shop at a reduced price might be accepted by the fandom. That said, they may have some plans to introduce some teams through different ways. That means that it'll take us THREE years, instead of two, to match the number of teams that we had in LE. BB3 is starting with 12 teams, and new teams are coming out every three months. BB2 Legendary Edition (just called LE from here on out) came out two years after the BB2 base game. Starting with the bad, to get it out of the way.įirst, let's talk time. In some turns you might only need 10-30 seconds, just to move pieces slightly.Let's lay out what we know about BB3's Blood Pass and its teams - both the bad, and the good. With the 60 minute option resulting in the now standard 2 minutes.īut since it's dynamic you will have more time, since not all turns in the game needs 1 minute. The alternatives I provided with the "30 minute" standard more or less gives the player 1~ minute turns throughout the game. It makes the game much more mentally demanding as a turn-based multiplayer strategy game should be. Personally I feel that 1 minute is too much, unless you use your personal time.ġ minute is an awful long time to make ones decisions, imo the game should be played with using the opponents turn to strategize and a little bit of your own. It does take skill to make quick and smart decisions, it also improves the coaches outside the game. I believe adding the 'chess clock' system to Blood Bowl 3 would provide with deeper gameplay in the form of resource management. ![]() I just thought about that, 10 seconds ago and was going to edit my post.Īs in, if you're out of personal time, you get at least 10 seconds during each remaining turn so you can at least move your pieces somewhat. If this were to be implemented, it is crucial that animations does not reduce the personal time a coach has I didn't check it up, but I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the Tabletop uses the 'chess clock' system. This also lets players take personal time outs but loses time as a result for upcoming turns.Īnother plus is that total game time will be "static", so you can plan accordingly if you have other things to do IRL etc. (Saving all your time to just let the game sit at the last turn) Last turn should have a 5 minute max timer to prevent the last turn for being griefable. In case you run out of personal time, you should be given 10 seconds to act during each of your remaining turns. As you may have noted, I haven't taken both rounds into consideration, this is because the old system has static time instead of dynamic. Personal time should only progress during each player's turn. ![]() This corresponds to the timer we have now (turn * time), but instead of wasting time, each player can use as much of their time as they want during each of their turns. Would be better to have choices between 15(1 min), 30(2 min), 45(3 min), 60(4 min) minutes in total for each of the players.
